Cosmetic Bonding

Cosmetic bonding is a conservative way to repair small chips, cracks, or other minor imperfections affecting your front teeth. During the procedure, our cosmetic dentist in Grand Rapids, Michigan, will blend composite resin to match the exact color of your natural tooth enamel. He’ll then mold and shape the resin onto your tooth. The result is a fully repaired tooth that looks and feels natural.

Here’s what else you need to know about cosmetic bonding.

Candidates for Cosmetic Bonding

You may be a candidate for cosmetic bonding if you have small imperfections affecting the front teeth. While less common, the dental bonding procedure may also be used to repair teeth with small cavities. For any significant structural damage, Dr. Yun may recommend a filling or dental crown to restore the full strength and function of your tooth.

To determine if you’re a candidate for teeth bonding, you’ll need to schedule an appointment with our cosmetic dentist. He’ll be able to create a custom treatment plan that’s tailored to your oral health needs.

Pros and Cons of Cosmetic Bonding

Dental bonding is less expensive than other cosmetic dental treatments and can usually be completed in one visit to our office. However, bonding can stain and is easier to break than other cosmetic treatments, such as porcelain veneers. If it does break or chip, tell your doctor. The bonding can generally be easily patched or repaired in one visit.
